Can my landlord evict me without written notice when I was paying month-to-month rent?
I'm renting a place month-to-month without a lease. There were rules, but nothing was written down as a written agreement in case something happened. My landlord wants to kick me out without any written notice and has given me only a few days to move out. Since there was no written lease and I'm paying month-to-month, shouldn't I have been given a written 30 day notice and not a verbal one saying I needed to move out asap?

1 ContributionsIf you are on a month-to-month, I believe you are entitled to 30 days' written notice. If this is Chicago, the RLTO gives tenants a lot of rights against landlords.
