Biography
With almost two decades of legal experience, Scott Elswick applies his legal talents to his practice in divorce, family law and personal injury. As a former family court judge and insurance defense lawyer, he provides strong, dogged litigation services for who trust their legal needs to him.
While all litigation is stressful, Mr. Elswick offers his clients the comfort of knowing that each case is being handled in caring, efficient, and competent way. He takes the time to provide the knowledge and information needed to make the right choice in your legal situation.Child custody cases comprise a myriad of concerns, including parenting time and visitation, support and paternity, which impacts the most important of relationships – our client’s children. Full, fair, and when necessary, aggressive, representation requires the experience and strength of a former family court judge. Securing a child’s best interests is paramount. After establishing custody, life intervenes sometimes requiring modifications and relocations. When dealing with all these issues, Mr. Elswick uses his background as a former family court judge to provide strong, steadfast, and, when necessary, aggressive litigation skills, while never forgetting who is most important - children.Divorce requires the protection of assets. Actively protecting those interests requires aggressive, creative and innovative representation. When facing issues such as distribution of marital estates, business valuations, alimony, spousal support and other assets at risk in divorce, clients need the experience and strength Mr. Elswick’s experience provides.
Mr. Elswick earns his personal injury reputation daily by handling all types of personal injury cases including those with significant injuries that result in hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical damages. Often insurance companies blame those who are injured or refuse to make a fair and reasonable offer sufficient compensation. It appears as if it’s all a game to them. As a former insurance defense lawyer, Mr. Elswick has the skill, knowledge and expertise to stop the gamesmanship and get fair, equitable settlements for those who are injured. When there is no settlement, Mr. Elswick will utilize his experience in the courtroom to force those at fault to pay their fair share. With statewide services, clients are assured all their legal concerns are fairly and justly considered, no matter the local legal climate.
