Biography
Mr. Stanger has dedicated his legal career to assisting employers seeking to navigate the maze of state and federal regulations governing their employees. After graduating from law school, Mr. Stanger practiced management-side labor and employment law at the prestigious labor and employment boutique of Kamer Zucker & Abbott in Las Vegas, Nevada. He joined Callister Nebeker & McCullough to help build the firm’s Labor & Employment practice group, and joined Strong & Hanni after 12 years at Callister.
A healthy portion of Mr. Stanger’s practice is dedicated to compliance. He drafts or reviews employee handbooks, employment contracts, policies and procedures, audits client’s employment practices, conducts sensitivity training. He conducts workplace investigations. He advises on ADA accommodations, FMLA leave, FLSA exemptions, downsizing, and enforceability of noncompete agreements. He regularly speaks to employer groups about new developments in the law.
When disputes arise, Mr. Stanger provides a vigorous defense at all stages of the litigation process. He has significant trial, arbitration and mediation experience, including first chair jury trial experience in employment cases. Mr. Stanger has also enjoyed significant successes at the appellate level, having achieved victories for his clients in the Ninth and Tenth Circuits and the Utah Supreme Court.
Mr. Stanger is a member of the American Bar Association's Labor and Employment and Litigation Sections. He belongs to the Utah, Nevada and Federal Bar Associations and the Society for Human Resource Management. He was been regularly listed by Utah Business Magazine among Utah’s Legal Elite in the category of Labor & Employment Law, and also regularly named a Rising Star in the field of Labor & Employment Law in Mountain States Super Lawyers Magazine.
