Biography

I’ve been a lawyer for 18 years, and I bring all of that experience to every single one of my clients. I specialize in criminal law, having been an Assistant District Attorney in both Nassau and Suffolk County before starting my own firm. My last seven years as an ADA in Suffolk County were spent as a homicide prosecutor, investigating and trying the most serious crimes someone can be charged with.

Over the course of my career I’ve handled thousands of cases covering just about every area of the criminal law. Shoplifting, DWI, Traffic Tickets, Criminal Contempt, Assault, Grand Larceny, Sex Crimes, Robbery, Burglary, Vehicular Crimes, White Collar Crimes, Manslaughter, Murder, and more.

I tell every one of my clients that my goal is always to get them the absolute best result possible. That means that if I’m working for you, we start by looking carefully at the case to see if there is something wrong with the prosecution’s proof that would let us get a dismissal. If that’s not possible, we’ll discuss where to go from there. If you want a plea bargain, I’ll work to get the best possible offer from the prosecutor. If you don’t want to plead guilty, we’ll put together a solid case for trial.

With nearly two decades of criminal trial experience I have no problem putting a case in front of a jury. When you’re fighting for your life in the courtroom, you want a true trial lawyer standing beside you. I’ll always be truthful and give you my best recommendation, but you’re in the driver’s seat and the final decision about your case is always yours. I’ll never try to force you to do anything you don’t want to do.

In addition to helping my clients, I’ve been an adjunct professor in the Criminal Justice program at Briarcliffe College since 2011. I’ve also given numerous lectures to attorneys on topics including Technology in the Courtroom, Enhanced Evidence Techniques, Opening and Closing Strategies, Trial Preparation, and more. I also taught as a faculty member at the National College of District Attorneys in South Carolina.

When I was in the homicide bureau, I was invited to lecture to Suffolk County detectives who were taking Basic Criminal Investigation and Advanced Criminal Investigation courses.

I am admitted to practice before all of the courts of New York State, as well as federally in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.

I was born and raised in New York, and live in Suffolk County with my beautiful wife and two wonderful daughters.
